Fire and Ice | Shadow Age Premiere “In Snow” and Reveal East Coast Tour Dates

It may be the dog days of summer in the northern hemisphere, but Richmond, Virginia’s Shadow Age have announced a new track, “In Snow” to kick off the imminent release of their long-anticipated debut full-length. Due out on September 4th via Play Alone records, the eponymous LP delivers on the band’s previous singles and growing live presence with ten tracks of masterfully crafted post-punk in the vein of For Against or The Cure’s landmark early records.

Despite the icy title, “In Snow” is a blisteringly fast and ever-changing powerhouse, firing on all cylinders from the opening notes. As such, it’s an ephemeral star, burning hot and bright, clocking in under three minutes, with not a single note wasted. Evan Recinos’ pummeling drum work is particularly noteworthy, hammering the track’s rhythms into a percussive frenzy. Aaron Tyree soars above the cacophony, complimenting the synth melodies with dreamy vocal lines and adding subtle guitar hooks to propel the song’s slithering evolution.

Shadow Age are set to embark on an east coast tour supporting Wax Idols, so be sure to catch them if you’re nearby. Full album details and tour dates below.
