The two releases of Black Egg that came out late summer are still on heavy rotation here – Melencolia and Songs of Death and Deception are two amazing records, for sure, outstanding. Songs of Death and Deception, the acoustic album released on Unknown Pleasures Records, features the song Sigils, a song that is seemingly deeply influenced by the original Man in Black, Johnny Cash. Since days are not brighter since the release of Cash’s most infamous track, his heirs still wear black, and seemingly, we can add UsherSan to his outspoken admirers as well. The bleak and minimalistic country track is solely carried by UsherSan’s voice and an acoustic guitar, with very sparse synth underlining, and gives away a nice outlaw atmosphere. The captivating ballad was picked for Black Egg’s next music video and got a matching minimalistic black and white video, created by Sebastien Faits-Divers. Enjoy – an excellent opportunity to shorten the time until the new Norma Loy release is due next year.
