[dropcap]Carl[/dropcap] McCoy’s Fields of the Nephilim take their time if they feel like they need it. More than ten years after the release of their comeback album Mourning Sun, the band is predominantly active as a live band, though as there are always rumours and announcements about new material to come.
Now it seems that the band finally has something new to offer. On their Facebook page, the band—since 2013 with founding member Tony Pettitt on bass guitar—announced that, exclusively at German tour dates, there is a pre-album sampler of new recorded material available at the merch booth.
This limited edition promotional product preludes the first physical manifestation of extensive studio work and is the forbearer of further substantial releases, which will follow on specific dates already planned for 2016.

The band is touring through Germany on these dates, so if you cannot be there, ask your German friends to get one for you. There is no definite news about a new album though, but as the new release, Prophecy, is called a “forebearer for further substantial releases”, there might actually be new material coming in the very near future.
