New Order’s Transmissions Episode 3 with Peter Hook

Ahead of their “Definitive Edition” release of their 1981 debut album MovementNew Order has announced a video series called Transmissions, a documentary style series of interviews with all four original members of the band chronicling their transition from Joy Division to New Order, and the creation of their first album after the suicide of front-man Ian Curtis—which occurred just as the band were set to embark on their first North American tour.

Transmissions – Episode 3

Episode 3 includes an interview with Peter Hook on the recording of Movement, where he discussing Martin Hannett forcing the band into diving headlong into recording to distract  them from the “disappearance” of Joy Division, not quite figuring out the vocals on the LP, and how the lineup was felt very “shaky”—but when it worked it was “sublime”.
