Founded in 1981 after the split of Industrial Music pioneers Throbbing Gristle by Genesis Breyer P. Orridge, h/er creativity seems to be a never-ending stream, spanning from Ambient experimentation to 60s fueled Psychedelic Rock, most recently on the excellent Snakes album, to Acid House-influenced albums (most notably Tekno Acid Beat, in 1988).
Discogs lists 178 releases at the moment, but it is questionable if the whole catalogue of the band is archived on the platform—always keeping in mind that the output of the band brought them an entry into the Guinness Book of World records for releasing 17 (!) albums in 1987.
Accompanying the reissues, Dais will release an album called Fishscales Falling: A Smorgasbord Ov Delights. Not doubting that the creators of that title did things to enhance the listening pleasure of the band’s recent psychedelic space rock output, the compilation will feature live recordings, demos, out-takes and some new material from 2003 on, and will be exclusively available on iTunes.
